What I do on Macs
- Slow MacBook or iMac: clean-up, freeing disk space, start-up check.
- New Mac setup and configuration: transfer of your documents, photos and apps from your old computer (PC or Mac).
- Software installation and macOS updates.
- Connection to Wi-Fi, the printer and your accounts (iCloud, e-mail).
- Automatic backup setup (Time Machine).
What I don't do on home visits
A Mac is harder to open and repair than a standard PC: replacing a screen, keyboard or logic board needs specific tools I do not carry on home visits. If the diagnosis shows a hardware fault, I tell you clearly and point you to an Apple-authorised repairer — rather than wasting your time on a job I cannot finish.

My MacBook has become slow. What should I do?
Most often it is a lack of free disk space, too many apps launched at start-up, or a nearly full system drive. A clean-up and a few settings are usually enough to get a responsive machine back, without a full reinstall.
Can you repair a broken MacBook screen or keyboard?
No, that kind of hardware repair needs specific tools I do not have on home visits. I point you to an Apple-authorised repairer in Geneva for that type of fault.
Can I transfer my data from a PC to a Mac, or the other way round?
Yes, it is a routine job: documents, photos and most essential settings can be transferred from one system to the other, with a few adjustments for software that only runs on one of the two.
