IT support for businesses in Geneva
A workstation that won't start, a printer nobody can install, blocked e-mail or Wi-Fi dropping in the middle of a meeting? I am an independent IT technician and I come to your office for freelancers, small businesses, practices and associations of up to 15 workstations, anywhere in the canton of Geneva, Switzerland. No contract, same hourly rate as for private clients. Service in English, French or Spanish.
An IT technician when you need one, not a subscription
Many small organisations have no IT department. When something breaks, the colleague who "knows a bit about computers" loses their morning. I come and fix the problem on site, explain what happened, and you get back to work. You always deal with the same person, who gets to know your setup well.
What I handle
- Workstations: slow, crashing or dead PCs and Macs, setting up a new computer and transferring data.
- New starters: preparing their computer, mailbox, printer access and shared folders.
- Network and Wi-Fi: dropouts, dead zones, the provider's router, guest Wi-Fi kept separate from your work network.
- Network printers and multifunction devices: installation on every workstation, scan to e-mail or to a folder.
- E-mail and Microsoft 365: Outlook, shared mailboxes, Teams, OneDrive and SharePoint, passwords and two-step verification.
- Backups and NAS: setting up or checking backups of workstations and shared folders, with a restore test.
- Basic security: suspicious e-mails or pop-ups, viruses, updates, passwords.
- Phones: landlines and IP telephony, together with your provider.
- Explanations for your team: I show the right habits, without jargon, so the problem doesn't come back.
How it works
You call
Describe the problem on 078 733 94 96. I can often tell you straight away what it is and what to prepare.
I come to your office
I fix the problem on site and test it with the person concerned. If the work takes the network offline, we schedule it outside your opening hours, subject to availability.
You know what was done
I explain what happened and can leave a written note of the important settings. Next time, you call the same number and reach me.
A blocked workstation, a network that keeps dropping? Call 078 733 94 96 and describe the problem.
Who is it for?
Freelancers and small organisations of 1 to 15 workstations: medical and therapy practices, law and notary firms, fiduciaries, architects, agencies, associations, shops and restaurants. I work in English, French and Spanish, which often helps in Geneva's international teams.
Already have an IT provider?
I can be their hands on site. Many providers work remotely and cannot reconnect a switch or move a printer. I follow their instructions, send them photos, and they stay in charge of your servers and accounts.
What I don't do
No annual maintenance contracts or 24/7 on-call support. No server administration or complex infrastructure. No cabling inside walls or false ceilings: that is a job for an electrician or telecoms installer. If your needs go beyond what I do well, I will tell you and point you in the right direction.
Moving offices?
I also handle the whole IT side of an office move: inventory, labelled take-down, reinstallation and testing. See office IT moves in Geneva.

Frequently asked questions
Do you offer an IT maintenance contract?
No, and that is deliberate. You call me when you need me and pay for the time spent, with no subscription or commitment. If your organisation needs permanent server monitoring or 24/7 on-call support, a managed IT services company will suit you better: I will tell you so honestly.
How many workstations can you look after?
Up to 15. At that size a single contact really knows your setup. Beyond that, an IT company with a team is the better choice.
Can work that takes the network offline be scheduled outside our opening hours?
Yes, for work planned in advance (replacing a router, updating workstations, a new network printer), we can agree on a slot early in the morning, in the evening or at the weekend, subject to availability and at the same hourly rate. Unexpected breakdowns are handled as a priority during my hours, Monday to Friday, 8am to 6pm.
Is the rate different for a business?
No. It is the same rate as for a private client: CHF 84 per hour, final price, 1-hour minimum, travel included across the canton of Geneva. Payment by card, cash or invoice from the second visit onward.
Can you explain things to our staff?
Yes, it is part of the job. I show the person concerned what I did and how to keep the problem from coming back, without jargon. I can also leave a written note of the important settings for your IT records.
