Data recovery at your home in Geneva

External hard drive no longer recognised, USB stick "to be formatted", unreadable SD card, folder deleted by mistake, phone that won't turn on but whose photos you want to save: I run the diagnosis at your home and attempt the recovery, without making false promises.

What I can do

When I refer you to a specialised lab

If the drive makes an abnormal noise (repeated clicking), if the circuit board is visibly burnt or if the read heads are damaged, no software recovery is possible at home. In that case I tell you honestly at the diagnosis stage and point you to a specialised lab — rather than wasting your time and money on an attempt doomed to fail.

Describe the problem on 078 733 94 96: for a hard drive, USB stick, SD card or phone, I'll quickly tell you whether recovery at home is possible.

Frequently asked questions

Can permanently deleted files be recovered?

In most cases, yes, as long as the space has not been overwritten by new data. The sooner you stop using the device after the deletion, the higher the chances of recovery.

My external hard drive makes a clicking noise. Is it serious?

Yes. Repeated clicking or a chirping noise is often the sign of a mechanical failure (read head). Switch the drive off immediately and do not try to power it on again: every attempt reduces the chances of recovery in a lab.

How much does data recovery cost?

The diagnosis and the software attempt at your home are billed at the usual hourly rate, CHF 84 incl. VAT per hour. If the case needs a specialised lab for a physical failure, that is a separate quote I give you before any decision.
