Internet and Wi-Fi repair at your home in Geneva
No Internet at all? A connection that keeps dropping? Decent Wi-Fi in the living room but none in the bedroom? This is my core trade: years of home network repairs on behalf of Swisscom (via Mila), in hundreds of households.
What I do for you
- Internet fault diagnosis: Internet router, cabling, fibre or DSL socket, configuration — I find where the problem comes from.
- Getting your router working again: Swisscom Internet-Box, Sunrise box, Salt Fiber Box or other, including after a move or a change of subscription.
- Better Wi-Fi coverage: analysis of your home, optimal router placement, installation of extenders or mesh units for a signal everywhere, including in older Geneva buildings with thick walls.
- New equipment installation: new router, extender, switch, network sockets, clean and discreet cabling.
- Securing your network: strong password, guest network for visitors, unknown devices removed.
- Connecting all your devices: computers, tablets, TV, printers, voice assistants, cameras.
The faults I fix most often
- The router shows a red light or keeps blinking without settling
- Internet works over Wi-Fi but not over cable (or the other way round)
- The connection slows down badly in the evening
- The Wi-Fi doesn't reach upstairs or certain rooms
- After a storm or a power cut, nothing works any more
- The new subscription is active but nothing works
Swisscom, Sunrise or Salt router blinking red: what to do?
A red light, or one that blinks without settling, signals a lost connection to the provider's network. Before calling, three quick checks:
- Restart the router by unplugging it for 30 seconds, then wait 3 minutes for it to settle.
- Check the cables at the fibre or phone socket and at the router: they must be pushed in fully, without kinks.
- Check your provider's "network status" page on your phone: if there is an outage in your neighbourhood, there is nothing to do at home.
If the light stays red after these three steps, the problem lies with the router, your home's cabling or the socket: that is where I come in, with the equipment to test on site.
Often a simple call already makes things clearer. Call 078 733 94 96 and describe what is happening.
Frequently asked questions
My Swisscom or Sunrise router is blinking red. What should I do?
A red light usually signals a lost fibre signal or an outage on the provider side. Sometimes a simple restart is enough, sometimes it goes deeper (cabling, socket, network fault). I run the diagnosis to find out precisely where the problem comes from.
Why doesn't the Wi-Fi reach one room of my home?
Often because of the thick walls of older Geneva buildings, the distance, or a poorly placed router. I analyse your home and install an extender or a mesh unit if needed to cover every room.
The Internet drops regularly in the evening. Is that normal?
It can come from network congestion, an overheating router, a faulty cable or interference from neighbouring Wi-Fi devices. I diagnose the exact cause rather than guessing.
Do I need to change my router to improve the Wi-Fi?
Not always. Before recommending a new router or subscription, I check whether the problem comes from the configuration, the placement or simply a badly set extender — often far cheaper than a new subscription.
I've forgotten my Wi-Fi password. How do I find it?
It is usually printed on a label on the back or underside of the router (often called "Wi-Fi key" or "security key"). If it was changed and nobody remembers it, I can retrieve it through the router interface or set a new one of your choice.
