Privacy policy
Introduction
This website is operated by DING — Dépannage Informatique Nunez Garcia (hereinafter: DING), active in the canton of Geneva, Switzerland. We are committed to handling your personal data responsibly, in compliance with the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (FADP), its implementing ordinance (DPO) and the other applicable provisions of Swiss law. Insofar as it applies to us, we also comply with the European General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). Below we explain how we process your personal data.
Visiting the website
On each visit, the servers of our hosting provider (Infomaniak Network SA, Geneva, Switzerland) temporarily record technical access data in log files (IP address, date and time, page viewed, browser). This data is used to establish the connection, ensure system security and stability, and for anonymous statistics. It is not linked to personal data. Only in the event of an attack on the infrastructure or misuse of the site could the IP address be analysed for clarification and defence purposes.
Contact form
When you use the contact form, we collect the data you enter:
- Name (required)
- Phone (required)
- Municipality, type of problem, description of the problem (optional)
This information is used exclusively to handle your repair request: calling you back, making a first diagnosis and arranging an appointment. It is sent to us by an e-mail dispatched directly from our servers (Infomaniak hosting, Switzerland), without going through a third-party provider, and is not used for any other purpose.
DING newsletter
Collection and processing
When you subscribe to the DING newsletter, we collect only your e-mail address.
Purpose
This data is used exclusively to send you the DING newsletter (about once a month: practical tips for your Wi-Fi, your computer and your devices, and subscriber-only offers). It is neither used for other purposes, nor sold, nor passed on to third parties other than the sending provider.
Legal basis: double opt-in
Subscription is based on your explicit consent, confirmed in two steps: after your subscription request, you receive an e-mail containing a confirmation link, and the subscription is only recorded once you validate it on the confirmation page. Without this validation, no data is entered in our mailing list.
Sending provider
The subscriber list and the sending of the newsletter are handled by Brevo SAS (France), whose servers are hosted in Europe and which is GDPR-compliant. Your address is only passed on to Brevo after you confirm your subscription, for the sole purpose of storing the list and delivering the newsletter. The subscription confirmation e-mail, like contact-form e-mails, is sent directly from our servers (Infomaniak, Switzerland). To find out more: Brevo's privacy policy.
Retention and unsubscribing
Your address is kept for as long as you remain subscribed. Every newsletter contains a one-click unsubscribe link; you can also request deletion by phone or e-mail (see "Contact" below). When you unsubscribe, your address is removed from the mailing list within a reasonable time.
Audience measurement (Google Analytics)
This site uses Google Analytics 4, an analytics service provided by Google LLC (United States). Google Analytics uses cookies and similar technologies to analyse how the site is used (pages viewed, visit duration, device type, approximate geographic origin). This information is generally transmitted to Google servers, including in the United States, where it is stored. In Google Analytics 4, IP addresses are neither logged nor stored: they are used only to derive an approximate location and are then discarded.
The data collected is used to understand how the site is used in order to improve its content. You can prevent collection by Google Analytics:
- by installing the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on;
- by configuring your browser to block third-party cookies or by using a content blocker.
Cookies
The DING site does not set cookies for its own operation: the only tracking technologies used are those of Google Analytics described above. You can configure your browser to refuse all or some cookies; the site remains fully usable without cookies.
Your consent is managed by Axeptio, a consent management platform (CMP). The banner shown when you arrive on the site lets you accept or refuse audience-measurement cookies; your choice is remembered by a cookie set by Axeptio.
Disclosure of data to third parties
We only disclose your data if you have expressly consented, if the law requires us to, or if it is necessary to handle your request. In practice, the only recipients of data are our technical providers: Infomaniak (hosting, Switzerland), Brevo (newsletter list and sending, European Union) and Google (audience measurement, United States).
Transfer of data abroad
Some data may be processed outside Switzerland (Brevo servers in the European Union, Google servers in the United States). When such transfers take place, we ensure that they rest on appropriate safeguards in accordance with data-protection legislation (countries recognised as adequate or standard contractual clauses).
Data security
We apply appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your data against manipulation, loss and unauthorised access: encrypted connection (HTTPS) across the whole site, data access limited to what is strictly necessary, providers bound by data-protection provisions.
Right of access, rectification and erasure
You can at any time ask which personal data we hold about you, and request its rectification or erasure. Simply ask by phone or e-mail (see "Contact"). Please note that some data may have to be kept for the applicable statutory periods; it is then blocked and used only to meet those obligations.
Changes to this policy
DING reserves the right to amend this privacy policy at any time, in particular in the event of legislative changes or changes to the services. The version published on this page is authoritative; we encourage you to consult it regularly.
