E-mail help on your smartphone in Geneva
Your phone keeps asking for the password, messages no longer arrive or no longer send, you have a new phone and no mailbox on it: I get your e-mail working again at your home, on iPhone and Android alike.
What I do on your e-mail
- Mailbox setup on iPhone, iPad or Android: Bluewin (Swisscom), Sunrise, Gmail, Outlook and Hotmail, iCloud Mail, work address.
- Forgotten or rejected password: recovery through your provider's official procedure, then updated on all your devices.
- Messages that no longer arrive or send, full mailbox.
- The same e-mails everywhere: phone, tablet and computer in sync, so a message read on one is read on the others.
- Two-step verification: set up and explained, to protect your mailbox.
- Sorting and safety: junk mail, fake messages from your bank or your operator.
Why the phone keeps asking for the password
In most cases the mailbox itself works: it is the phone that no longer has the right settings. The password was changed on another device, two-step verification was turned on, the mailbox is full, or the account was set up long ago with old settings. I redo the setup cleanly and write down the current password with you.
What I cannot do
If the password is lost, recovery goes through your e-mail provider, which checks that you really are the account holder: I guide you, but I cannot get round that check. E-mails permanently deleted at the provider cannot be recovered. And I only open your own mailbox, never someone else's without their knowledge.
Tell me which e-mail address is causing trouble on 078 733 94 96: Bluewin, Gmail, Outlook or another, and I'll tell you what to have ready.
Frequently asked questions
My phone keeps asking for my e-mail password. Why?
Most often the password was changed on another device, two-step verification was turned on, or the account uses old settings the provider no longer accepts. The mailbox works, but the phone needs to be set up again.
Can I have the same e-mails on my phone and my computer?
Yes. Set up properly, the mailbox syncs across all your devices: a message read, filed or deleted on the phone is also read, filed or deleted on the computer and the tablet.
I received an e-mail asking me to confirm my password. Is it a scam?
Almost always. Your bank, your operator and your e-mail provider do not ask for your password by e-mail. Do not click the link. If you have already typed your password, change it immediately or call me.
